April 2014

My birthday starts off the month of April, so I braved the world and took the kids to a Mother Goose story time with some of our friends.  Aerom and Avenlea both won a stuffed animal in a raffle. It was kind of chaotic but the kids had a lot of fun. However because the twins are now walking they were kind of all over the place and were ready to be done (or maybe that was me:) in a short period of time.

Costco is one of my favorite places to visit because they have two seater carts. So the babies will sit for a good 30-ish minutes. I would have anxiety leaving the house most days, but I always look forward to going to Costco. So going on my birthday was great! Plus seeing those two cuties side by side is just adorable!

Matt and the kids know how to spoil me. Avenlea is always thoughtful and made me a note and came up with her own presents to give. Aerom gave me an acorn necklace and Talia got me some black church shoes. I am a sucker for Pride and Prejudice but have never owned it. I had been craving to watch it for a while and Matt was amazing and got it for me, so I can watch it quarterly throughout the year. :)

Avenlea is our little creative girl and likes to come up with her own outfits. Sometimes they work, and sometimes they are strange, but all in all it is fun to see her creativity.

Our little Boys love to play with the kids especially when the kids are on the ground where they can pull at their hair, and play with them. Here we have Brigham playing with Avenlea and then later cuddling up to Aerom.

Our traditional morning pancakes. This was the start of our conference weekend. Puncie came to stay with us. It was so nice having her. This was the first time we had someone come by themselves. And it was so nice. She helped with the twins and played with the older kids. It really helped me not only with the kids but for the adult interaction. Puncie stayed for a week and we really grew closer and got to spend that time shopping, laughing and just hanging out. I loved it!! We also colored eggs and took pictures at Tiffany's.

We also went to Mesa Temple and watched the Easter Pageant. It was really crowded and Matt and I were up with the twins wandering for most of it, but it was a good experience and we will probably plan it better the next time we go.

Just before Easter we had a bunch of friends get together and we did an Easter egg hunt for the kids. The weather was amazing. I had been getting a little worried it would be too hot to be out in the sun, but this day it was cool with a slight breeze. It was perfect and then when we were loading everyone in the car to go home, it started blowing and then eventually raining. Little tender mercies. The kids had so much fun playing with their friends and quite honestly so did I. :)

I'm not OCD but I had to provide eggs for the hunt and I wanted there to be the same amount of each color.

Talia Had an Activity Day Mother Daughter Tea Party. It was fun to dress up and go out as girls.

Avenlea wasn't able to come but she still had to get in on the dressing up action. She also did her own make up for the occasion.

Needless to say the costumes got some extra use after the tea party.

Aerom made the 98th percentile in Math. And was put into the gifted program. So proud of him, not so much for getting into the program but because he is always trying his best and working hard.

First swing... he didn't love it, but I captured some smiles.

I know I sound like a broken record but we LOVE the weather in the winter and spring, and can't get enough play time outside. The kids got Kites for Easter and loved flying them.

At the end of the month we went up to Utah to go to Anne's farewell. Before then we got together with my family to do breakfast for dinner. It started raining and so we went to McMullin's orchards where Grandpa Butler works, and did it in the big warehouse. It was perfect for the kids to run around and grandpa took them on rides and they had plants of space to run around. It worked out perfectly.

On the way over we got the sad news that Kelly had miscarried at 17 weeks. It was a hard time, but we felt so glad to be there at that time, so we could be there for her. It was hard for me to see her go through that. It was the first miscarriage (to my knowledgeand besides my Mom's) on my side and being one of my Sisters it really freaked me out, and was heart breaking. I am so grateful for the Atonement and for our Saviors sacrifice. That when we go through trials we can be made whole again through him. I am also grateful for family, that we get the opportunity to be there for each other in times of need, as well as have others there for us when we need it most.

Saying goodbye to Anne for a year and a half!

The first thing the twins did when we got home, was go straight for the cupboard with the bowls and pulled them out. It as so funny to see them register that they were back in their element after vacation.  They are still quite stranger anxiety and don't go to others very well, so it is definitely nice to be home where they are so happy and comfortable.

The twins hit 11 months old! It has been so fun to see them walking and exploring their surroundings. Brigham learned to walk first and Taysom figured it out about 2 weeks later. Taysom was able to walk by this point but because of the grass it was difficult for him to stay up. :)
